Baymax!, the Disney+ sequel to 2014’s Big Hero 6, will be released on June 29. Disney shared the release date on Friday, along with a new trailer that shows the lovable care robot from the film trying to help the residents of San Fransokyo.
“In each of our six episodes, Baymax just wants to help someone — and often they don’t want to be helped,” says creator Don Hall. “He’s trying to solve a physical problem that he’s identified, getting into a deeper, more emotional place and can be almost transformative in that role.”
Baymax! is the second sequel to Big Hero 6 after Big Hero 6: The Series, a 2D animated show that ran on Disney Channel for three seasons. In the new series, Scott Adsit, Ryan Potter and Maya Rudolph will return as the voices of Baymax, Hiro and Aunt Cass, respectively.
